Mass. man charged with raping T.C. girl
Tompkins County Sheriff's deputies have charged a 40 year-old Massachusetts man with raping a local 16-year-old girl he allegedly met on the Internet.
He communicated with the girl via Internet chat rooms and e-mail, and arranged to meet her Thursday.
After meeting her, he allegedly took her to a motel outside the city and raped her, the sheriff's office said.
“I want people to take this to heart and pay attention to their kids, what they do on the Internet and especially who they talk to on the Internet,” Meskill said. “It's hard work, I know, but it's important to know who your kids are with.”
