'Groomer' guilty of procuring girl, 14, for sex
A MAN who used internet chat rooms and text messages to procure a 14-year-old girl for sex acts purposely set out to make her fall in love with him. Thats what the groomer does - gets their trust and tries to take them away - anyway they can.
The County Court heard that Meehan, of Endeavour Hills, communicated with the girl through emails, text messages and phone calls between June 29 and September 6 last year.
Crown prosecutor Daniel Caporale said that the pair communicated using some codes before Meehan drove from his Endeavour Hills home interstate to meet her.
The girl also sent him pictures of herself, the court was told. "She fell in love with him and he at least pretended to fall in love with her," Mr Caporale said. Pretty typical stuff - at least he got caught.......
